North America --Taiwan's second-largest market for complete bicycles export
In terms of export volume for complete bicycles, the North America region is the second largest market after the EU, accounting for 20.58% of the total (over 610,000 units). With the United States’ exciting and diverse cycling community and athletic atmosphere, our current business relations encourage a dynamic, ever-developing industry. Come and learn about the evolving enterprise of Taiwan’s cycling market. Whether you’re a buyer, exhibitor, member of the press, or industry fanatic, the Taipei International Cycle Show has intriguing opportunities for you.
TAIPEI CYCLE 30th Anniversary
The 2017 Taipei Cycle Show took place at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center and Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Hall from March 22-25, 2017. The four-day event attracted a total of 41,892 visitors, including 8,672 international buyers from 97 countries, an increase of 5% compared to 2016. There is also a 7% growth in the number of domestic visitors to 33,220. The top 10 of overseas visitors is dominated by Asian countries. These are China (including Hong Kong), Japan, Korea, Thailand, USA, Singapore, Germany, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia.
New show dates and new zone for 2018 TAIPEI CYCLE
Accommodating a dynamic industry, this annual event is set for a strategic move, now taking place from October 31-November 3, 2018 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1 and TWTC Hall 3. Through various client feedback and exchanges, we have grown to accommodate other global production scheduling and availabilities affecting the industry. Further communications by TAITRA’s overseas offices with international buyers were conducted and exhibitors were consulted to reach an agreement on the new exhibition date. It is expected that this amendment will attract more buyers to the event, thereby solidifying the prominent global supply chain status presented by the Taipei International Cycle Show.
The development of bicycles has undergone an evolutionary transformation, digitalization! The idea of digital bikes will be the trend of the future, hence the increasing need for smart devices. To accommodate this trend, Taipei Cycle 2018 highlights e-devices, presenting a brand new IoT zone. Designers and manufacturers are encouraged to showcase the latest IoT applications, including wearable devices, cloud systems and services solutions optimized for cycling. Moreover, the show welcomes companies established after January 1, 2013 to present their innovations at the Start-up Zone. Both new zones will take place at TWTC Hall 3.
E-bikes are shaping the future
The Taiwan Bicycle Association’s (TBA) analysis of the rapid development of global electric bikes shows worldwide sales are expected to exceed 40 million units by 2023. Taiwan has shifted focus on mid-level and high-end cycling products, and will also be particularly focused on the development and manufacturing of electric bicycles; and, in coordination with the trend, transform the industry toward health, Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) and smart cycling.
